I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

Thanks so much for the reblogs! 🙂

  1. Obviously a fascinating man. Your interview has been very revealing and shows that you can’t tell a book by it’s cover.

Thanks David. It goes with the one shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. But many times it’s very difficult to know what’s behind a person’s exterior and looks… He’s a truly amazing guy.

  2. Well done, Olga! Just what I need while dealing with a horrid hostile workplace. And “You create you!” Perfect echo of my deeper thoughts. Big hugs!

Thanks Teagan. He’s an amazing guy and has a very strong message that I think most people can apply to themselves (unless one is completely insightless but…). Whatever people think about us doesn’t matter. We create ourselves indeed! I’m pleased you’ve found it illuminating. I hope to be able to meet him again at some point and catch up…

  3. The first paragraph really struck a chord with me. Reactionary! I absolutely agree with Scary man, this is the problem. Facebook is a classic example of how reactionary people really are! and ill-informed! The more that I read about Scary, the more I like him 🙂

He’s as big as he’s awesome Lottie. Yes, and he’s very approachable. I’d love to see him with a big group of people, because he’s also a great communicator and it’s evident from videos and movies that he strikes a cord with kids too. He has many layers and depths…I just hope to do something else with him and bring you more news about him.

  4. I love the bit about “Creation is not static.” A lot of what he said resonates with me. Great interview. Thanks for sharing, Olga.

Thanks Kiru. He’s a very generous and insightful man and does great work. Love your blog. Must try and bring your books to mine when I have a gap…:)

  5. This is really fascinating Olga. What an interesting man. It’s so sad what happened with his father, but wonderful that he’s turned his own life around and is helping others.

Although he’s not a professing Christian, what he’s doing is very Christ-like and to me, as a Christian, that’s wonderful. 🙂

Thanks Elaine. You’re right. It’s always struck me that enlightened and good people in every religion seem to have plenty in common although their beliefs might be different.

  6. Another excellent episode and a fitting one to complete the three interviews. Food for thought. An extraordinary man and one that would be enlightening to meet. Thank Olga.

Thanks Sally. And thanks for spreading the word. I hope to be able to catch up with him soon…:)

  7. Reblogged this on Smorgasbord – Variety is the spice of life and commented:
This is part three of an interview with The Scary Guy by Olga Nunez Miret and certainly if you have not read the previous two I suggest you pop over to Olga’s blog and catch up. The Scary Guy talks a great deal of down to earth common sense and the key is that he does not just talk – he walks the talk and makes a difference to many peoples lives, particularly young people struggling with many issues. Terrific post.

Thanks! You’re right. I was very lucky to meet him and he very kindly agreed to the interview.

  8. Olga…I had no idea! Very insightful interview…Going on to read the other two! Thanks so much!

He’s a great guy. I hope more people listen to him.
