I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Wow. It sounds like a marvelously told story, Olga. Thanks for taking time to do another mindful review for us. Safe journeys… and mega hugs. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Teagan. I have a few interesting appointments today and then I’ll be on my way, near enough… 🙂

    2. I agree! They are going for the Amazon indie novel award in Spanish this year. There are very interesting novels participating. I’m very curious…

  2. This sounds right up my street. Like something I might like to write, if I make to that age. I will be seeking this one out for sure, Olga.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks Pete. I haven’t read the Hundred Year Old Man…. but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. And of course it just shows that politics are puzzling everywhere. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

  3. I have spotted the very striking cover of this book in a few places recently and been curious… Your review has shed a light on it for me and it sounds like a much deeper and more thoughtful book than I perhaps had assumed it might be! I will definitely give this one a try when time allows! Thanks Olga, great recommendation.

    1. Thanks, Wendy. I picked it up based on the description and then I realised it had done very well in many places before. The tone is lighthearted but it pulls no punches. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂
