I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Holy Moly, Olga. I like the way you think. 🙂 😛 😀 I’m not quite scared silly yet. Guess, I should read the book. o_O

    1. I’m sure you’ll love this one, Tess. It’s a beauty!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. I’m so happy you enjoyed it. 🙂

    1. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks so much! I hope to catch up with some of your other books soon and I’ll keep my eyes open for them for sure. And the very best of luck to you. You deserve it!

Thanks! The others are romance. Not quite as gory but quite a lot of suspense. 🙂

        1. It sounds good. I don’t read a lot of romance by itself but with a good suspenseful story it’s difficult to resist!

  3. Good morning Olga. I to love scary books and movies – however, can only read or view in the day time…because if I read or view later in the evening, I find that I can’t sleep:) A book like this is one I would need to take on a relaxing break somewhere, and only read in the middle of the day. Thank you for another superb review….wishing you a beautiful day…janet.x

    1. Thanks so much, Janet. I must say this one is particularly bad for the darkness side of things. Beautifully done but very creepy, although it’s not a very long book, so your idea of reading it during a short break sounds perfect. The day isn’t looking too bad here. Very mild. I hope yours is magical and gorgeous too. 🙂

      1. Grey and murky yesterday but cold and bright today, which I love:) Happy happy x

        1. Excellent! Pretty mild here! 🙂

  4. From your review, this sounds like a really good addition to a crowded genre, that will stand out from the many on offer.
I wish K.R. great success with her book, which I am sure will attract many happy readers.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. Fierce competition, it’s true but a greatly enjoyable read. 🙂

  5. Not sure if this is for me – at the moment, anyway – as I’m coping with real-life nightmares! Sounds good, though! Thanks, Olga.

    1. Thanks, Sarah. I hope things improve for you. Yes, sometimes we need cheery and light subjects.

  6. Just when I thought you couldn’t impress me any more, you do this and time your insightful reviews to line up with the appropriate holiday. Who are you? Wonder Woman? 🙂

I’ve been buried deep in all the things life throws at a person, but I needed to carve out some time to visit my Peeps! Miss you!❤

    1. Thanks, Lorna. I must say it was quite accidental (I’d just been eyeing that book for a while and it coincided some of the ones I had on my list were a bit shorter than I expected) but perhaps it was my subconscious telling me it was time for a bit of horror. I hope life is treating you all right. And don’t worry, I just wish there were more hours in the day. Missed you too. 🙂

  7. Ooh! 😮 I can get into this one. I loved your review, Olga. I judge ‘Horror’ pretty much the same way you do. If the book scares me and has a good plot and strong characters––I’m in! 😉 Enjoy your weekend!

    1. I’m sure you’d enjoy it. Very atmospheric, Vashti. 🙂

  8. Such a great review, Olga! I have to read this book – I am already hooked 🙂

    1. I think you’ll love it, as she describes beautifully too. I hope you enjoy it!

Don't be shy! Tell me something!
