I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Happy Christmas, Olga, and all the best for 2017. Let’s hope things improve – we have to hope.

    1. Thanks, Mary. I alway think of a film called ‘Clockwise’ and John Cleese’s immortal lines ‘It’s not the despair, Laura. I can stand the despair. It’s the hope!’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfnhmuZ27eQ
      Have a lovely Christmas.

  2. Have a wonderful breather. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. All my best to you. <3

    1. Thanks, Tess. Have a lovely time. I hope you report back!

    1. Thanks so much, David. I hope yours is great. If 2017 doesn’t come with any nasty surprises it would be good enough. ♥

  4. Merry Christmas Olga. I look forward to many more interesting reviews from you in the New Year.

    1. Thanks so much, Robbie. Still sharing some next week (and I have some more coming… I seem to have fallen off the waggon sharing). I hope you have a great Xmas and a new year full of chocolate and wonder. ♥

  5. Merry Christmas Olga and a prosperous year 2017 for you and yours !! Hugs and kisses!

    1. Thank you! Gracias, Frank! Very good!

  6. Dear Olga, thank *you* — for your constant support, sharing, and encouragement. I realize you’ve been considering what to do about your blog and books for a while now. (I understand, because I face the same internal questions.) I enjoy both, so naturally I selfishly hope for both your blog and your books to continue in the future. However, you have to do what works for you — or that’s my opinion anyway. I hope you will do whatever brings you joy and/or satisfaction.
To me it has been an experiment. So I didn’t put any money and very little time into marketing. It’s no surprise that my books don’t sell. But the writing and publishing process brings me satisfaction. The blog brings me both happiness and satisfaction. Although I’m considering dropping back from weekly posts to perhaps monthly…

Merry Christmas to you and yours. May 2017 bring everything you want. Happy holiday hugs.

        Same to you Olga. 🙂

  8. We have had some trying times in 2016, to say the least. However, it is always a pleasure to see your posts appear, and to read you reviews, listen to your radio broadcasts, or to see your photos of Spain. Looking forward to another year of blogging friendship in 2017.

    1. Thanks so much, Pete. Catching up with your stories, your trips and walks with Ollie, and your photographs (all things I either haven’t had time to do, or, like in the case of the photographs, have no talent for) is one of the highlights of my week. The blogosphere is one of the few places where there is always something positive and inspiring (even with our individuals up and downs). Gràcies! And Happy 2017!

  9. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Olga. I’m spending a rare Christmas in Ontario enjoying the snow. I look forward to our continuing connection next year. Cheers.

    1. Thanks, JP (Jo Anne). It sounds delightful. Yes, I’ll be here after a bit of a break and always happy to share good news! Happy Year 2017!

Don't be shy! Tell me something!
