I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Interesting. Thanks for sharing your detailed thoughts on this one, Olga. Your descriptions are always so helpful. Huge hugs.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. This is an extraordinary book. Have a great Tuesday

    1. A great pleasure, as always, Rosie.

    1. Thanks, Sarah. It’s not a run of the mill book, that’s for sure. 🙂

  2. Great review, Olga. Sometimes, a ‘beautifully written’ book misses out in the mainstream, so I hope this will not be the case with this one. It sounds like the start of a successful career for Rich, and I wish him luck.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. Yes, I agree. Literary fiction might get good reviews and interest but commercial success is a bit more complicated. I agree on the career front. Have a good day and keep the positive thoughts going.

  3. Lovely review, Olga. I don’t think I could read a book that includes grief over the death of a child my son’s age (to disturbing) but I really enjoyed your review.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. I totally understand. When my father died it took me a while to read books that featured chronic illnesses and cancer, as I didn’t think I could be objective and unemotional. And I know people who never read books where children are victims or get hurt.
It is quite an extraordinary book, though, and it deals with the issues in a very inspiring way. Do take care.

    1. Thanks, Hilary. It is a very special book. I agree. Reviews work, that’s why I have so many books on my list to read!

Don't be shy! Tell me something!
