I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I’m a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I’m a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I’ve always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often.
I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links.
My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. I have not read The Martian, nor seen the film as yet. This sounds like an interesting idea though, setting a futuristic crime caper on the Moon. Given the huge success of the other book, I am sure that this will become a best-seller.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I’d be surprised if it doesn’t. I caught the first book on NetGalley shortly after release and I loved it. The movie isn’t bad either (although, of course, not quite as detailed as the book). Have a great week.

Wow! A great indepth review, Olga.

    1. Thanks, Michelle! I’d been looking forward to this one for a while! Have a great week.

  3. Hi Olga. You had me when you said it made you laugh out loud. 🙂 I’m always up for a fun read.
That’s interesting about the criticism of the Jazz character… It sounds like they wanted to pigeonhole her into a stereotype…
    Hugs!

    1. Thanks, Teagan. Yes, that’s the same I thought. I guess all female characters must be the same, especially if they are written by a man. I think you’d enjoy this one, Teagan. 🙂 (Mind you, I have a few pretty good ones coming!) Have a great week!

Fantastic review! I’m hesitant to read Artemis, but I might just give it a shot after your review. Jazz sounds like someone I could identify with, lol.

    1. Thanks, Lilyn. From your reviews and your taste in writing, I think you’d like her too. She can be very good at something and then do the most stupid thing next minute. Yes, I can identify with her too, although I’m far clumsier than her. Check the sample and see what you think. And have a great day!

Yeah, gonna give it a go in about 6 months when I can get a copy from the library lol!

        1. I don’t blame you. I caught the Martian on NetGalley early on and they have me on their list now, it seems. ♥

  5. I loved The Martian, Olga. After reading your review, I expect I’ll love this book as well. I’m also intrigued with Jazz’s character. In fact, if I weren’t familiar with Weir’s work, that would be a major influence in my reading the book ❤

    1. Thanks, Tina. If you loved The Martian, I think you’ll like this one too. I did like Jazz a lot. She has the heart in the right place even if she tries to be all business. And she’s very funny. Have a great day!

Don't be shy! Tell me something!
