I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. The Devil Aspect sounds SO good. And scary. I totally want to read it. Thanks for the review.

    1. Thanks for the comment, Priscilla. I really enjoyed it… well, in that way one enjoys eerie books. Have a great week.

  2. I would read this book because of the Prague and Czechoslovakia setting, Olga. Having lived there for a year before the Velvet Revolution and seen many castles, the backdrop is enticing. And I appreciate your insightful comments about the story itself. Sounds like a winner to me.

    1. Thanks, Noelle. I think you might enjoy the medical tidbits as well, although they are a bit out there. I’m sure you’ll appreciate the setting. And the way the author brings the politics into it is also very well done. I hope you enjoy it. Have a fabulous week.

    1. Thanks, Sally. It’s very atmospheric and not your run-of-the-mill story. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Have a great week and thanks for all the great recommendations!

  4. Even before I read the end of your review, I was thinking ‘film’. I like the location and time period, so this may well be one for me.
    Thanks, Olga.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I read that Sony was also involved in a possible adaptation to screen, so it is looking good. I think you would enjoy it and would come up with some great suggestions for the cast. Have a great week!

  5. I love psychological thrillers/horrors, Olga. This book sound incredible.

    1. I think you’ll love the atmosphere as well, Robbie. It is very creepy!
