I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. This sounds like an informative and good read, Olga. We have Xenaphobia going on in South Africa at the moment. The locals are attacking and looting foreign nationals and their shops. It is a terrible thing.

    1. It must be very scary, Robbie. Unfortunately, it seems to be on the rise in most places, Robbie. We should remember what has happened before and not repeat the same mistakes again, but society seems to have a very short memory for certain things. Take care and keep safe. All the best to your family.

  2. I hadn’t heard of the author, but it sounds like a compelling read. Your excerpts show he has great writing skill.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I think this one is another one you would “enjoy” (enjoy isn’t the right word, but you know what I mean). He’s a new author for me too, but I’ll be watching out for his books from now on. Enjoy your break.

  3. I am currently reading this one. I enjoyed The Underground Railroad so I hope to be just as pleased with this one. We’ll see 🙂

    1. I must get hold of The Underground Railroad. He is a great writer and the story deserves to be told and known. Enjoy your reading!

Happy Hump day to you too!

    1. Thanks, Rob. I hope most people find the information they need to decide if they want to read the book or not. Have a great week.

  5. This one sounds very intense, Olga. I appreciate your mindful review. Hugs on the wing.

    1. It is, Teagan, but well worth a read. And he writes beautifully. Enjoy the rest of the week. Big hugs!
