I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Oo, this does sound like a good story. Rae would be easy to cheer for, and I popped over to Amazon to read the opening pages of the book. It’s got a good hook!

    1. The author knows how to grab one’s attention and is very good at creating characters we quickly get to care for (and some we get to hate as well). It’s a great book, as are all the books by Terry Tyler’s I’ve read so far. And I intend to keep going, Priscilla. Have a great week!

  2. A lovely review, Olga. It always fascinates me how many people believe that we are going to lose our hard won freedoms. After all, this vision of the future isn’t different from how things were in the past when people like King Henry VIII was all powerful and controlled everything and everyone. I prefer dystopia’s that have a more hopeful ending like Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. I guess reading (and writing) these kinds of books is a good reminder of how bad things could get if society follows a certain path and a wake-up call not to become too complacent with certain behaviours and ways of thinking. Enjoy the rest of the week.

  3. A great review, Olga. I do think one of Terry’s many strengths as a writer is her ability to create characters we totally believe in.

    1. Thanks, Mary. Yes, absolutely. Take lots of care, Mary. ♥

  4. I seem to be slowly collecting Terry’s books on my Kindle without actually reading any of them! She gets such great reviews, I really must get around to them one day soon.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. They are well worth a read, Pete. Enjoy the rest of the week!

Sounds like another great read fron Terry. I have a few of Terry’s books awaiting my Kindle. It’s been awhile since I read one of her books, and she never disappoints. Thanks Olga. Stay well and safe my friend. <3

    1. I hope you can get to them soon, although I know how long your list is! Do take care, keep safe, and give my regards and best wishes to your husband as well. ♥

Thank you so much Olga for your lovely wishes. You too, stay home if you can. It’s getting scary all over again <3

        1. It is! They are cancelling a lot of things, closing restaurants… Fingers crossed it gets better soon. Stay safe. ♥

Yes, same thing here! I feel we’ll soon be back to lineups for the grocery stores, limiting amount of customers like they did before. Won’t be fun standing in lines in the dead of winter. Oye! Yes, safely huddled! <3

          2. I hear you, sister! ♥

  6. What a great review, Olga – Terry’s book sounds wonderful. Take very special care of yourself at the moment with all the Covid problems. Toni x

    1. Thanks, Toni. Terry is a great writer and her new book should be out soon. And thanks. Yes, things aren’t looking too great here, but I know it’s bad everywhere. Take a lot of care as well and keep safe. We are also being as cautious as we can. ♥
