I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I’m a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I’m a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I’ve always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often.
I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links.
My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

All that history and writing, and I have only ever read ‘Frankenstein’.
    Thanks, Olga, enjoy your weekend.
    Best wishes, Pete.

Hi Olga and happy Friday. This is a truly fascinating post. I admit that I was taught very little about the classics and their authors when I was in school. So I enjoy learning now. I’m very pleased to know more about Mary Wollstonecraft. Yes indeed, their lives were marred by tragedy. So sad. Yet two amazing women. Thanks for this post. Mega hugs!

Thanks, Teagan. I learned more about Spanish authors than others at school, although through later courses and readings I’ve tried to catch up (but so much to learn!). Yes, as the song says ‘sometimes it’s hard to be a woman’. Well, it’s never too easy. Have a great weekend (I know you’re busy). 🙂

Fascinating, Olga. Seems like the perfect pick for Friday the 13th. Love the new header.

Thanks, Jo-Anne. Yes. It worked out well, although poor creature didn’t choose to be created. I keep swapping and changing the header. I wanted something that made the writing stand out. Thankfully Unsplash always shares interesting royalty free pics…

Fascinating lives of both women. We would call them “liberated” today. I’m amazed at their self-determined freedom.

They were well ahead of their time for sure, Noelle!

Don't be shy! Tell me something!
