I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Great idea. I wrote one esrlier this evening. A good useful review need not be a book report. Just a statement of something you liked about the book or product. Thanks for this, Olga. Mega hugs

    1. Thanks Teagan. I can’t resist and talk and talk (or write and write) about a book, especially if I enjoy it. For me I think it’s another way of processing what goes on in the book and learning about it. But the important thing is to spread the word. It doesn’t need to be that different to when we recommend books, movies, TV programs or whatever to friends or people we know. You’re right, it doesn’t need to be a detailed report. Have a great week!

  2. I really like this idea….and may very well do this….Hope all is well with you during this very iffy English summer!:) Enjoy the day my friend. By the way Wear and Tear has been ordered. Janet:)

    1. Thanks, Janet. I also think it’s a great idea, especially as many people have a bit more time to do things they normally wouldn’t do in the summer. Yes, it’s been up and down since I came. Today it’s raining and yesterday we had a power cut (mind you, they sent me a message about it). I hope you enjoy Wear and Tear. Such a fabulous book. And I have quite a few reviews I haven’t had a chance to share yet (I think you’d probably enjoy the one I’m talking about next Tuesday too). Be well!

  3. Anyone who has never reviewed on Amazon before would do well to look at some other reviews first. Keep it short and to the point, and avoid making your review into a short story!
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I know you’re a top reviewer so thanks for your advice. 🙂

  4. It is a great initiative, and I am in 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! Have a good trip!

      1. Thank you!

  5. Love this idea. I am an avid reader. So I will try this.

    1. Great! Thanks!

  6. This is GREAT! I wish everyone who has ever bought a book on Amazon could see this and actually write a review! So many people are intimidated by writing something as simple as a review, but they will share the intimate details of their lives on every social media outlet available. Boggles the mind! 😐

    1. You’re so right, Lorna. It seems some people are using the hashtag for other things (no surprise there!) but I think it’s a fabulous idea and I hope plenty of people adopt it. I hope your business goes well, Lorna. Best of luck!

      1. Thanks so much, Olga!

        1. ♥ Have a great weekend

Fabulous idea.Review writing needs to be demystified.People review products all the time on Amazon. Readers need to view books as they do any other purchase. A word. A sentence. Anything to give the book visibility.

    1. Yes, that’s true. And we all tell other people what we think about stuff we read, watch, or buy. It doesn’t need to be any more complicated than that. Thanks for spreading the word.

  8. Wonderful idea any time of the year. And you’re right, a good review doesn’t have to be long and drawn out. 😉

    1. Absolutely right, Vashti! ♥
