I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. This definately sounds like a good book, Olga. Thanks for the review.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. I enjoyed it for sure. Happy 2018!

    1. Thanks, Rosie and happy 2018!

  2. At first I was thinking “Seen it all before”, but reading deeper into your review, it appears that Matt has managed to add something to a tried and tested theme. Sounds good.
Happy New Year to you and your Mum, Olga. I hope 2018 holds excitement and happiness for you.
    Best wishes as always, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. And Happy New Year to you and your family too. And Ollie (I know he’s a member of the family). Yes, the author manages to be faithful to the genre whilst giving it his own personal touch. To a great 2018!

  3. Hi Olga, and happy Day-2! I tend to agree with Koontz — people are at least as haunted as houses. I loved your opening for this post. You had me smiling despite the sinus infection that took over last night. This sounds like a great ghost story. Thanks for this review. Wishing you a New Year filled with all and only good things. Hugs.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. I hope you get better soon, although I know it’s an ongoing problem. It is pretty special. Take care and I hope you breathe ease soon. Big hugs.

      1. Thanks, Olga — I’ll get there. Wednesday was the only day I was scheduled to work this week (between the holiday and using my use-or-lose leave) and I already decided to stay home. So I should be able to kick this. Hugs back.

        1. I am pleased to hear you are getting a well-deserved rest, dear Teagan. Love to Crystal.

Great review Olga. Although, due to my aversion to reading horror or psychological terror books that play on my psyche I won’t be adding this one. 🙂
Hope you had a happy holiday season and wishing you Happy New Year again. 🙂 x

    1. Thanks, Debby. Oh, I love horror and I’m not sure why I don’t read more of it (I guess it depends on the offer coming my way and also on the great recommendations by others :)) Happy 2018 to you all!

Well, that’s what makes us unique, we can’t like every same book right? 🙂

        1. Indeed! Happy weekend!

  5. Hi Olga. Thanks for the great review of my book! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it. If you or any of your readers have questions about Ghosts of Manor House, just let me know. Thanks again for reading and taking the time to write a review. Take care – happy reading!

    1. Thanks, Matt. It was a pleasure (well, you know what I mean!). I will, for sure. And keep us posted on any new books! Have a great 2018!

  6. Thanks for the good review, Olga. I skimmed it because I am reading this book now – I suspect we will agree! Love your reviews – so thoughtful and insightful.

    1. Thanks, Noelle. I know what you mean. I’m always in two minds when I see a review for a book that I’m reading or just about to read, but sometimes it might help me decide on what to read next if I haven’t started it yet. I hope you enjoy it and I’ll catch up with your own review soon.

Don't be shy! Tell me something!
