I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. An excellent review, Olga. I think I am going to read this one too.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. A topic I didn’t know much about and it makes for a great story. ♥

    1. Thanks, Rosie. A very intriguing topic.

  2. This looks to be well above the run of the mill chillers out there. Good review, Olga.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. It is pretty special, for sure, and it has given me much to think about. Have a lovely Tuesday.

  3. Yes, relevant to the previous review, Olga. The book sounds intriguing, though I’ve long since stopped enjoying a lot of violence in my reading. Thanks for another mindful review. Hugs.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. Yes, it is intriguing. The subject itself is fascinating, even if the book might not be your genre. Have a great Tuesday.

      1. It’s always good to branch out with different kinds of books now and then. I hope you are not snowbound. While much of the US and the UK got snow, we had a terrible wind storm. They called the city an “urban forest” and those hundred year-old trees have been coming down all over the District and outlying towns. The Fed even closed. Although I already had my hours worked for the pay period, so I didn’t get a free day… Calmer today, but it’s not supposed to be over until Monday.
        Happy weekend hugs.

        1. Thanks, Teagan. There has been some snow and it’s been very cold and windy. There has been some minor damage to the place where I’m staying (a few tiles and some garden decorations), and yes, the trees have also suffered. Not pleasant to go out for walks with the dogs, although by midday today the snow had gone. It was snowing a while back but it’s supposed to get slightly warmer. Well, it’s March already. What mad weather! I have plenty of books and movies in case I get stuck! Take care and be safe.

I was very close to requesting a mobi copy of this one, but just felt like maybe it wouldn’t be right for me. After reading your review, I think I’m glad I didn’t request it. Still, it does look like a good read for people who like that style!

    1. Thanks, Lilyn. I know what you mean. It is a very intriguing book, although not straight horror. I have a few on my list but I think you have read them already.

Wonderful review as always Olga. This one though is definitely not one of my favorite genres. 🙂 P.S. I couldn’t get the Twitter button to work. 🙁

    1. Thanks, Debby. That must be a relief (not adding another book tot he list, I mean!). Thanks for letting me know about Twitter. I’ve tried to reconnect it again, see if it works. Thanks and have a great Wednesday.

I just tried to tweet your post again, still won’t tweet. The ‘tweet’ blue button is faded and unclickable 🙁

        1. Thanks, Debby. I think it’s sorted now. I think the problem was simply that the title of the book was so long that it went over the number of words allowed for Twitter posts. Have a great Thursday!

Oh, something to consider. Thanks Olga. Happy Thursday! 🙂

          2. Thanks, Debby. Sorry, I seem to have missed some of the comments. Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks Olga. No worries, maybe I went to spam? Lol. I’m getting ready to take off tomorrow for some sunshine! 🙂

          4. Enjoy the weather. I’m in Wales at the moment and although better than it was a few days ago, it’s raining and not terribly pleasant. No, this time you hadn’t gone to spam but I didn’t get a notification of the comments or it got lost… Have a fabulous trip (I hope to hear about it).

Glad I’m out of the dumpster Olga. Perhaps you need to join me for a sunny vacation? Lol. Thanks for the well wishes. And you can bet you’ll be hearing about it. 🙂 Ole! <3

          6. I’d love to! I’m looking forward to your pics and stories!

            Stay tuned! 🙂

          8. I will! 🙂

  6. I really don’t mind violence but I find that stories about cults are really creepy! That length people would go! I’m not a fan of multiple POVs but you do learn about each character motivations that way! I do love right and wrong tales! Sounds very f=good overall! Great review Olga!

    1. Thanks, Daniela. Yes, I agree. I also find them creepy.I guess people have always looked for something to give sense to their lives. Have a great day!

Don't be shy! Tell me something!
