I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

Great review Olga. I loved this book, in fact, I loved the whole trilogy. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Debby. Yes, I decided to wait and review the three together, because once you start, it’s difficult to stop! A great book!

        Exactly! 🙂 x

  2. I’ve added this book to my list. Sounds great, Olga! ❤️

        1. Christoph’s books are always a safe bet and this trilogy is very intriguing. Thanks, Colleen!

          1. I will definitely check them out! Thanks, Olga. <3

          2. Thank you!

    1. Thanks, Colleen. It is, and Christoph is always organising new events and opportunities for authors. Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Christoph. I’d been intrigued by these books for a long time and I’m so pleased I got to read them all! Great work! And good luck with your new book!

  3. Sounds like a compelling read indeed. I like the idea of all the characters coming together for the final part too. Christoph is an excellent writer (and a very supportive blogger) and I have bought his books in the past. This trilogy will be going on my ‘to buy’ list.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I know you enjoy movies about con-men. I think this would be right up your alley. Have a great week!

      1. I have bought the Mamet film you recommended, but have still to watch it. 🙂

        1. I hope I’ll read your review when you get around it, Pete. Have a great Tuesday.

  4. I’m adding Christoph’s trilogy to by tbr pile after such a great review.

    1. Thanks, Mary. I can’t recommend it enough. Have a fabulous week!

  5. Hi Olga. I hope you had a lovely weekend. I have the first two books. (I particularly enjoy The Gamblers.) But I didn’t realize they were part of a trilogy until fairly recently. Now I need to get this one! 🙂
It’s always a pleasure to read things from Christoph. Thanks for this multi-part review and the way you broke it down. Best to Christoph with these wonderful books. Hugs all around.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. I remember he mentioned he was working on a book that would bring together the characters from the two books and I thought it was a great idea. It works great and it adds to the intrigue and the complexity, for sure. Oh yes, you must get the third one! Have a lovely week!

  6. Olga, I am always astounded by your thorough and comprehensive reviews. I especially liked you pointing out the merits of Christophe’s 3rd person usage in The Healer.

    1. Thanks, Claire, you’re very kind. The books are quite different but they work very well together. I guess that, as writers, we are always intrigued by technical points and other author’s choices, and point of view is one of those things that can make or break a novel. It works really well here. Enjoy your week.

  7. Three brilliant reviews, Olga. I listened to The Healer as an audio book and really enjoyed it.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. Christoph never disappoints. I hope you can catch up with the other two. I’m sure you’ll enjoy them!
