I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. I like the psychology of this book, Olga. It sounds very intriguing. Great review.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. It is a pretty unusual book but one I think you might enjoy. Have a great weekend.

  2. The writing looks excellent, from your examples. The sort of book you might have to really concentrate on, like eating a gourmet meal and enjoying the flavours, rather than gulping down your food. 🙂 I’m not sure about the faith/religion aspects though. I tend to avoid those at all costs.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I think you would find it interesting, but I know what you mean. And you’re right about enjoying it slowly. Have a great weekend!

  3. Hi Olga. Your remark “about faith, about finding it, losing it, and using it as a way to atone and to find meaning, but also as a way to manipulate others,” was very powerful.
Thanks for the heads-up about the blurb. Yes, I was definitely expecting a thriller — and I would indeed have been disappointed.
I hope you are having a relaxing weekend. Huge hugs.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. I hope my reviews can help people decide if the book is for them or not. Sometimes it is not evident from descriptions and blurbs and they are very tricky to write, as we well know. Thanks and hope your weekend is peaceful as well. Love to Crystal.

Don’t know how I missed this? Lol. But oye, does sound like another fab read. Thanks Olga <3

    1. Thanks, Debby. It’s probably because, being part of the blog tour, I shared it on a Friday, that is not one of my usual days. Yes, it is a pretty interesting book and the author seems truly nice. I am sure we will keep hearing from her for years to come.
      Have a great Friday!
