I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Not my sort of thing, Olga. But there is a huge market for the genre, so I hope Kenneth does well with his new book. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I am sure you would find some of the comments amusing. I’m reading a couple of books at the moment that I suspect will be more to your liking. They are both terrific. Have a great week!

      1. I just bought ‘Beneath A Scarlet Sky’, based on your review. 🙂

        1. Not mine! It sounds like a great book but I haven’t read it. Enjoy it! 😉

          1. That’s strange, I thought you had reviewed it. Must concentrate harder! 🙂

          2. I read so many I had to check myself. I’m sure I’ve read a review recently as well, though. Perhaps Christoph Fischer? As long as the recommendation is good, it matters not where it comes from!

Sounds like the next big series possibly? Great review Olga. I’ll check it out. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Debby. It’s a fun one and there are a few books to come yet. I hope you are having a great week. ♥

Great review, Olga. Not my kind of read, but I am sure the book is excellent. Thank you for sharing!

    1. Thanks, Inese. It’s not my usual kind of read either, but I’ve become addicted to this series. Have a great weekend!

Thank you Olga! After a second thought, I might get the book. Going for holidays, need something to occupy me on my flights. Haven’t read this kind of books for ages, but I like the author and believe the book is good. Have a great weekend you too! xx

        1. Thanks, Inese. I’m also going on a trip and hope to catch up on plenty of reading. Remember to start with the first one! Have a great time!

  4. An interesting review, Olga. I am not sure about cliffhangers, I think on the whole, a book should be complete on a stand alone basis even if it is part of a series that continues the story.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. It depends, I guess on what the author is trying to do, although I think perhaps they should warn readers in advance. Many people mention if the book is a standalone or not, and I think that’s fair. As I say in the review, because at this point you’re already invested in the series, it is probably fair to assume that most people would have already decided if they are going to read the whole thing or not.
      Have a fantastic weekend!
