I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. What a fabulous sounding book, Olga. I am reading a bit of Sci-fi at the moment.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. It is a beautiful book and very engaging a read. I thought it was well-worth getting in order to check the illustrations, but I’ve learned a lot by reading it and enjoyed the writing as well. I recommend it. (With all of Pen & Sword books it’s worth checking their own website as I know they regularly have offers and sometimes they have their books available in more formats there than in other stores). Enjoy the new week!

  2. This is evocative of my own youth, Olga, and I avidly read all of John Wyndham’s novels when I was young. I will add this to my wish list! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I think you’ll love this one. I did and I had not experienced quite a few of the radio and TV programmes myself. Have a great week!

  3. Love ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ quote, and love Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet on the cover. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Ichabod. I also fell in love with the cover. There are wonderful images, including a couple of Robbie the Robot inside as well. Gorgeous! Have a fabulous week.

  4. I usually want fiction when I read… but you’ve convinced me on this one Olga. It really sounds fun, entertaining, as well as informative. Thanks so much for sharing. Best to John. Hugs!

    1. Thanks, Teagan. I also prefer fiction, but a change is good sometimes, and I found this one irresistible. 🙂

      1. I hope there was also some irresistible fun for you this weekend. Hugs!

        1. Not finished yet, but can’t complain!

This sounds like a fun nostalgic read, despite it being sci-fi. 🙂
