I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. I’m not particularly interested in this time in history, but my husband would love this book. Thanks for posting your review!

Thanks, Priscilla. I have family connections to that historical period and I must confess I love tanks! Regards to your husband. And happy new week!

  2. As you know, the civil war in Spain is a big interest of mine. But even allowing for that, this book is VERY niche! 🙂
    Thanks, Olga.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I’d seen a few books by these authors in the catalogue and I’ve become more interested in photographs and picture books recently, and I wondered if I might come across locations or even people I knew. It is pretty niche, though, I agree, but I’ve found some of these books are far more interesting than they looked like to the untrained eye. Have a great week!

  3. Miss Plumtartt and I are endlessly fascinated by WWII. This book appears to be right up our alley. Thanks, Olga!

    1. Thanks, Ichabod. I’ve discovered some wondrous machines, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it even more with your knowledge. Have a fantastic week!

  4. This would be a great source for historical writers. Wonderful review, Olga!

  6. This is a well timed post for me, Olga. I have ordered a copy for Greg’s birthday that is coming up. A great review.

  7. It’s funny… I was never a “tomboy” but I’ve always loved cars and as an adult I’m fascinated with all sorts of vehicles. The heck with buying it for a husband (or other man) — I want it for me! 😀 Thanks for sharing, Olga.
Also, I’m really enjoying your Wattpad story. Hugs!
