I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. I am always in two minds about revisiting classic literature, as you know.
However, I loved the film ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ so much, and I am a fan of the 1930s period.
    So maybe…
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. Yes, I know your feelings on the subject and I share them to an extent, although I’ve found some authors who can manage to explore some new aspects of the story or the characters while remaining faithful to the original. I am also a fan of the 1930s, that’s why I was so intrigued. Enjoy the rest of the week, Pete!

      1. I hear a lot of ‘posh’ people here refer to ‘An Hotel’, and they drop the H to say ‘Otel’. 🙂

        1. 🙂 I was having just a chat with another blogger about Keeping Up Appearances, talking about posh!

  2. Thank you Olga.

    1. Thanks, Rosie. I’m happy to have been able to read this novel in its new version as I had missed it completely the first time around.

Thank you for a thoughtful and thorough review, Olga! I’m glad you enjoyed the story 🙂

    1. Thanks, Karen. It’s a great novel, and I always enjoy your stories. Good luck with the tour and the anniversary edition! ♥

  4. This sounds good! I’m one of the few who never read Pride and Prejudice, lol

    1. I bet you know the story or have watched one of the movies or TV versions, though, Jacquie. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one too! The 1930s setting suits it very well. Enjoy the rest of the week!

  5. Another intriguing review, Olga. I must admit that I am not a Jane Austen fan.

    1. You are in the minority there, Robbie, but not alone, for sure. The author writes very well, and I did review one of her non-Austenesque novels not too long ago, so don’t let that put you off if you are intrigued. Enjoy the rest of the week!

  6. I really like your blog. A pleasure to come stroll on your pages. A great discovery and a very interesting blog. Fascinating and beautiful. I will come back to visit you. Do not hesitate to visit my universe. See you soon

    1. Merci!
