I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. I still have The Chalk Man on my wish list from your review, and may well be adding this one too. The key word for me in your review was of course ‘twisty’. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

I think you’ll enjoy it, Pete. I meant to post this on Monday, but, I guess that’s what happens when you write reviews late at night. Have a great weekend!

  2. Sounds like a complex book. Changes in POV don’t bother me if they’re handled well, with good clues and warnings. Also, when I read slower I can follow POV changes better. Thanks for posting your review.:-)

      Thanks, Priscilla. Happy weekend!

  3. As with many things, some good points and some negatives. That’s why your reviews are so helpful, Olga. You help me sort through all those things before I spend time or money. I agree with Pete about “twisty” being a hook for me. 😀 Have a wonder-filled, hug-filled weekend.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. Fantastic episode of the Delta Pearl today. Twisty suits this book to a T, and some are the characters are pretty twisted as well! Enjoy the weekend!

  4. An interesting review of this book, Olga. I have read a few others and all are good reviews.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. Purists of the thriller genre will not necessarily be pleased with these books, but I know you quite appreciate a touch of the supernatural. C.J. Tudor writes very well, that’s for sure, and the idea itself will be terrifying to any parents. Enjoy the weekend and have a happy and great birthday!
