I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Sounds good, Olga – and we all love a bit of scandal and gossip about the stars don’t we?

Yes, we do, Mary! Have a good and safe week and take care!

    1. Thanks, Pete. Yes, I didn’t read the books but I remember watching a TV series based on it. Have a great week!

      1. According to the critics, he made it all up! 🙂 Full marks for invention, if that’s the case.

        1. Well, yes! To tell you the truth, as I was reading some of the things they said about Clara Bow in her trial (a koala bear was involved, I’ll say no more), I think anybody’s imagination pales in comparison.

  2. Miss Plumtartt and I love old movies and that era. I am familiar with many of the celebrities mentioned and their accompanying scandals. One of my favorite celebrity bad-boys of that time is George Sanders. Watch out, girls, that dude is dangerously charming. His autobiography is titled, ‘Memoirs of a Professional Cad’. :-0

    1. Oh, I’ll check it out! Thanks for the tip, Ichabod!

    1. Thanks, Debby. Yes, who can resist those? 😉

        Great escapes! 🙂

  4. This sounds very interesting, Olga. The early Hollywood stars were the mega stars and fascinating to the rest of the world.

    1. Thanks, Robbie! Yes, celebrity culture is not something new, but some of their stories are, unfortunately, familiar. Some things don’t seem to have changed over the years, at least not for the better. There are some fascinating characters in this book, indeed. Keep well and regards to your family.

  5. This sounds like an intriguing read! Thanks for sharing, Olga.

    1. Thanks, Mark. It’s a good book for anybody interested in old Hollywood stars. Keep well!
