I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. It sounds wonderful, Olga. I do enjoy a cozy mystery. Best to the author. Hugs all around.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. The animal characters and the expressions made me think of your stories. Have a great week!

    1. A fun read and full of great historical gold nuggets, Rosie. Many thanks!

  2. When I see the word ‘Cozy’ associated with a novel, I confess it immediately puts me off. But I know it’s a popular genre.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. I’m not usually a fan of cozy either, Pete, but this is a good one and does both elements well, the mystery and the history. Enjoy the rest of the week.

  3. HI Olga, this is a strong recommendation. I don’t read a lot of Westerns, but this does sound very good.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. I think you’d enjoy the historical bits about it and the charming characters. Have a lovely week!

  4. I enjoyed your review, Olga. Murder at Buckskin Joe sounds like it has a wonderful cast of characters!

    1. It sure does! Thanks, Priscilla, and enjoy the rest of the week!

  5. What a great review, Olga. It sounds like Bell hit the mark with this. I especially like the way you described the characters, even secondary characters with lots of distinct personalities. Thanks for sharing your recommendation. Congrats to the author. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Diana. It is a fun and informative book, and I loved all the characters. Good luck with all your projects and enjoy the weekend!

Another great review Olga, although not really my genre, especially when so many other goodies await me on my Kindle. Incidentally, I did join Netgalley, so oye! So many more books. I just picked up that book you reviewed recently by Nicholas Conley. I just finished reading a short novella by him too that I’ll be reviewing on my blog in a few weeks. Love your recommends. Hugs and happy weekend! <3

    1. Thanks, Debby. I must confess I can’t keep up with all my readings from Netgalley, and I’m very behind. I fancy a lot of things there, but I tend to give priority to reads by independent authors (and not that many there), so my review rate is low and I don’t get approved for many these days, that is, perhaps for the better. Mind you, there are some authors I always read if I can get hold of their books, no matter where. I hope you enjoy Conley’s book. He writes beautifully and his stories always have a big heart. Stay well and I look forward to your reviews and recommendations as well. And happy weekend!

Thanks so much Olga. Yes, I happened to join because one of my favorite Indie authors invited us to a copy of her new book there. I finished that one and figured I’d request Conley’s book and they gave it to me! Thanks again for your great reviews and suggestions. Happy weekend to you too! <3

  7. Another wonderful review, Olga – it sounds like a fantastic read. Toni x

    1. Thanks, Toni. It sure is! Have a great weekend!
