I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. Thanks for the recommendation. I’m intrigued 🙂

    1. Thanks, Christoph. I must try and find time to read some of his other books. Happy New Year!

  2. I have always loved the sadly-overlooked film, ‘Lacombe, Lucien’, which should be seen by all lovers of cinema.
The Algerian War, the OAS turmoil in the aftermath, all sounds like fertile ground for a story indeed.
And I doubt I could argue with the Nobel Prize, even if I wanted to.
I can suggest these film links, to any reader interested.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. I must get hold of ‘Lacombe, Lucien’ when I can. Thanks for sharing the links. It’s been a long while since I’ve watched the Battle of Algiers so must check that one too. I must read more of his books, for sure. 🙂

  3. Thanks for all the splendid reviews you’ve been doing, Olga. Mega hugs.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. I have reviews programmed up to New Year, but quite a few left yet. I hope you have a good rest of the week.

  4. Wow. You’ve shared so many reviews in such a short time, Olga. Another intriguing read. I haven’t read this author at all. 🙂 🙂

    1. Thanks, Tess. I’d been accumulating them over time and I thought I’d try to start afresh, but I still have a few left. He is well-worth a read, for sure. 🙂

      1. Sigh. Before blogging, I read a lot! o_O
