I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. A lovely review of Jennifer’s book, Olga. Thank you for sharing.

    1. It is a great read, especially for art lovers, although it works quite well as historical fiction too. And not heavy going. Thanks, Robbie and have a great week.

  2. Thank you Olga.

    1. Thanks, Rosie. As usual, a great selection. I’ve just finished the next of the books I was reading for the team. Another great read but very different. 🙂

  3. Sounds like this will appeal to a few different markets. Good luck to Jennifer with her new book.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. Yes, it covers quite a few bases and all well. Have a great Tuesday.

    2. Thank you, Pete! The next book should be out before Christmas. Thanks for reading excellent Olga’s review.

      1. Always a pleasure, and my best wishes are genuine.

  4. In spite of your caveat about the development of Zelda’s character, I don’t think I’m going to be able to resist buying this book. It has all the elements I’m addicted to! Thanks, Olga.

    1. Do not hesitate, Sarah. I’m sure you’ll love it and I thought of you as I read it. I wonder if reading the first one would add much to the character, although it seems her original adventures were in a totally different environment (if you get the book, the sample at the back gives a good idea). Enjoy!

  5. Thanks again for choosing to review The Lover’s Portrait for Rosie’s Book Review Team. I am so pleased you enjoyed the book. Have a great week!

    1. It was a pleasure and a chance to visit Amsterdam, even if only through your fiction. I’m pleased to hear there are more adventures coming up soon. 🙂

  6. This does sound wonderful. Nice to know more about Jennifer’s work. Hugs all around.
