I was born in Barcelona and have lived in the UK for many years now. I'm a writer, translator (English-Spanish and vice-versa) and I'm a medical doctor and worked in Forensic Psychiatry many years. I also have a BA and a PhD in American Literature and Film, and a Masters in Criminology. I've always loved books and apart from writing them I review them often. I write a bit of everything, check my books for more information and my about page for links. My blog is bilingual, English and Spanish.

  1. The retelling of traditional stories is very interesting, Olga. It is amazing that these ideas still thrill us so many years later.

    1. Thanks, Robbie. Yes, I am wondering about trying to write one myself. Have a great week!

  2. Wonderful review, Olga. This book sounds like my cup of tea 🙂

    1. Thanks, Tina. It’s a great tale, full of fun and you can’t help but like the heroine (and the reluctant here isn’t bad either). Have a fantastic week!

  3. The cover would really put me off, so it was good to read your review. Re-telling of old stories is a popular theme at the moment, it seems. The big drawback for me is that we already know how they end. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Thanks, Pete. Well, some of the retellings don’t end up like the originals, but this being a romance, a Happy Ever After is to be expected. Saying that the different versions of the originals can be very “different”. Chopping off toes, quite gruesome events take place in fairy tales. Indeed, some of the classics are not for the faint-hearted. Have a good week, Pete.

Olga, I think we are all fascinated by Bonnie Scotland. I am. so thank you for this post. Very clear, so well written.

    1. Thanks, David. The Highlands are a magical place for sure.

  5. Sounds like a well-balanced romance, Olga, and who can resist a Highlander in a kilt?

    1. Indeed! It is great fun. Of course, the protagonist falls for an Englishman, but there are plenty of Highlanders that sound quite a catch! Thanks, Noelle!

  6. Sounds intriguing, Olga!

    1. Thanks, Cynthia. It is a fun read full of adventures.

  7. It sounds like such fun! I hope everything is smoothing out and going well now. Snow tonight here, Ice the next day… Ewk… Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.

    1. Thanks, Teagan. It is fun, for sure. Snow here for the next two days. I just hope it does not interfere with our flight on Monday. Fingers crossed!
