#Bookreview #ManBooker2017 THE MINISTRY OF UTMOST HAPPINESS by Arundhati Roy (@PenguinRHUK) A kaleidoscopic novel about India, gender, politics, class, society, and humanity, demanding of its readers but rewarding in the same measure

Posted on August 28, 2017 by OlgaNunez
Hi all: As you know, I’ve been trying to catch up on some of the novels that have made the Man Booker Longlist this year. My only criterion is that I had the novels waiting to be read already, and here comes another one (that I was very curious about because, although I’d always wanted

Hi all: I’ve read a few books by Brian Moreland and loved them all but realised I hadn’t shared the review of this one. And in case you need something different, I thought today was the day. I’ve also read recently that the author’s publisher is closing down, so you might want to grab his

#Guestclassic author. Edgar Allan Poe. Horror, detectives, gothic and poetry

Posted on April 22, 2016 by OlgaNunez
Hi all: I’m today revisiting another of my old classic author posts. This is one of the oldest, and considering I’ve shared reviews of horror novels quite recently, it’s only appropriate. It’s Friday and again I decided to bring you one of my favourite classic authors. If you remember when I wrote the post on

I am a language teacher, writer and bookworm who worked for many years as a forensic psychiatrist, and also have a Ph.D. in American Literature, and an MSc in Criminology. I started publishing my stories, in English and Spanish, in 2012 and now have over twenty books available in a variety of genres, a blog (in English and Spanish), and translate books for other authors (English-Spanish and vice versa). In 2020 obtained the CELTA certificate as a language teacher, and offer Spanish and English classes. Writers and readers both in English and Spanish are my friends, colleagues and allies, and after living in the UK for over twenty-five years, have returned home, to Barcelona, in Spain, searching for inspiration for my stories. Oh, I also love the radio (I volunteer at a local radio station, Sants 3 Ràdio) and all things owl. Do feel free to connect with me.
